Leadership Team

The Barcoo Shire Councils leadership team is made up of a team of four with a wealth of knowledge across local government.

David Wiskar - Chief Executive Officer

DavidWiskar2026.jpgDavid has extensive experience across State Government, the water industry, and Local Government, with a strong focus on regional service delivery.

His career has included leadership roles in Wide Bay, North Burnett, and the Northern Territory, and he now returns to regional Queensland with a renewed commitment to supporting communities through quality infrastructure and services.

David is especially mindful of the important work ahead in restoring infrastructure and services across our towns following the flood events earlier in 2025 and is keen to explore ways to improve the services Barcoo Shire Council delivers.
